Self-Defense: Paying it Forward

Self-Defense Referral Program

Self-defense is an essential set of life skills.  Please refer these classes to your friends.  As a thank you, for each person you refer who signs up for a class,* I will donate 10% of paid tuition to your choice of one of these excellent non-profit organizations:

King County Sexual Assault Resource Center - 24/7 sexual assault crisis and resource line, advocacy, therapy, and education for victims of sexual assault, their families, and the community.

King County Coalition Against Domestic Violence - provides advocacy and support for programs women can depend on to survive, escape, and heal from abusive relationships, including emergency hotlines, shelters, and other social services.

Rain City Rock Camp for Girls - dedicated to building positive self-esteem in girls and encouraging creative expression through music.

If you represent a business or organization and found me though one of the above non-profits, I will donate 10% of payment to that non-profit.

To redeem your thank-you gift, please send me an email. Tell me your friend's name, which class she registered for, your choice of non-profit donation, and if you would like it to be anonymous or in your name. When your friend shows up to class, I will send the donation to the non-profit organization your've chosen in your name (or anonymously, as you prefer).

*The Fine Print: Not valid for already-donated or otherwise free classes.

Self-Defense Refresher Program

So you completed a Strategic Living self-defense class! The skills you learned and practiced will enhance your experiences and enjoyment of life for, well, the rest of your life.

In the future, you may decide you want to sharpen the saw and refresh what you've learned. Maybe you took a short one-session class and are now ready for a longer multi-week course. Or your environment may have changed and you'd like additional tools. Maybe even you're considering new adventures you feel may expose you to unknown risks (but the rewards would be wonderful) and you'd like to learn extra precautions.

You can attend select* Strategic Living classes at half price.

*Classes eligible in this offer are any of those delivered directly by Strategic Living or the ASUW Experimental College. Not included are those offered through the UW Women's Center, Bellevue College, Seattle Central Community College, South Seattle Community College, and others that may pop up from time to time, as I do not have administrative authority in those partner programs. Students eligible for this offer are those who completed a paid course.
